Combining pattern and furniture is a 'hallmark of great design,' and nobody does it like Eva Longoria – her poolside will look as chic in 2026
Striped, neutral sun loungers bring a hint of East Hampton charm to any yard, as Eva reminds us via her postcard-perfect pool area

There's something about striped furniture that perfects the 'old-money,' East Hampton-style aesthetic that's filling up my Instagram saved posts folder. A hint of this pattern brings a coastal charm to every kind of exterior space, whether you're working with a tiny terrace (as in my case) or an expansive pool area.
The latter rings true in Eva Longoria's yard, where she has adorned her poolside with beige and cream striped sun loungers. Though this pattern is subtle, it brings just the right amount of interest to her pool area. The muted colors and timeless pattern feel quietly luxurious while serving as the perfect base to soak up the sun. There's simply nothing more I could ever want from my outdoor furniture.
Since stripes are so closely associated with the aforementioned old-money coastal style, you can follow Eva's example, knowing your pieces will look just as refined in 2026 and for many more summers ahead. Just take it from Eva Longoria, who has already set the precedent.

With lines that are designed to fit the contours of your body, you can rest easy on a lounge that will withstand the elements while allowing you to unwind. The colorway is also Eva approved, in case you need another reason to invest.
A playful patio umbrella is a trending garden must-have for summer. Not only does it help you keep cool in the midday sun, but it also adds pattern and style to a dining or lounging setup.
Add a touch of stylish comfort to any bed, chaise, or sectional with this stunning pillow cover; striking hues make this the ultimate accent for any lounge space. It's a great way to get Eva's look at an ultra-affordable price.
When it comes to the eternal appeal of striped furniture, Stephanie Perez O’Boyle, the founder of Stephanie Perez Studio, mirrors my sentiments.
'Mixing furniture and pattern is a hallmark of great design, and so important when thinking of exterior spaces,' Stephanie says. As she explains, incorporating patterns is one way to keep your outdoor furniture feeling interesting without it being overpowering. Browns, beiges, among other calming colors, are the perfect starting point.
'Most people keep to a single material base like rattan or iron for their outdoor furniture, and oftentimes match them with simple white cushions that can resemble a showroom floor set. This flat look can be easily avoided by introducing layers. I like to mimic colors that we see in nature, like blues, greens, or browns, to accentuate the feeling of being outside, while also mixing pops of the unexpected like red or yellow,' Stephanie says.
'Bringing these colors in patterns like floral and block print adds another dimension that helps create an inviting and cozy space. Even doing a simple stripe on an outdoor sofa or an umbrella can instantly elevate a patio to make it align more with the style you’re trying to portray, whether that’s coastal, traditional, or lived-in.'

We've bookmarked Eva's poolside as one of the chicest we've seen so far this summer, but ask us again next year, and we're sure it'll look just as perfect.
